‘He’s disappointed in me’ admits Peter Andre as he opens up about eldest son Junior and his parenting in frank admission

PETER Andre has admitted that his eldest son Junior is "disappointed" in him.

The Mysterious Girl hitmaker has spent time reflecting on his parenting abilities after announcing that he is set to become a dad again.

Peter, who turned 50 last year, will be welcoming his fifth child with his wife Emily MacDonagh.

The pair are parents to Amelia, nine, and Theo, six.

Pete also shares two other kids with his ex partner Katie Price, Junior, 18, and Princess, 16.

But as the years have gone by, Peter has said that he's become less strict - which his eldest isn't thrilled by.

Speaking on his GB News show, he said: “In terms of the relationship with my kids, I always say how being a parent is first and foremost the job.

"That's a given. But also being a friend is important as it means they can open up to you and they can talk to you. 

“Now Junior, my eldest, is a bit disappointed in my parenting because I was so strict with him and then with the other two," he said.

"But I'm not as strict now. As each child came along, I became less and less strict.”

Emily, who joined him on the show also shared her thoughts about their parenting techniques.

She said: “I think we just try to be open with them. We just have open dialogue in the family. Who's the strictest one? I think it's a balance.

"I learned a lot from Pete as well, but you've got to be strict and have those boundaries. They have to know that there's love there as well."

She went on to say that they have struggled to navigate raising children with social media.

The doctor said that it's something they are "learning about every day" as it's still so new for parents.

Emily continued: "I try not to focus too much on their appearance. I always try to say to them, that's such a good piece of homework you've done or I'm really proud of you, and I saw how hard you tried  today. 

“So I really try hard to praise them for things other than physical appearance so that they get to value all aspects of themselves and not just their appearance because there's a big pressure I think on boys and girls to look a certain way." 

Emily showed off her blossoming bump during an appearance on BBC Radio 5.

Emily and Peter announced they were expecting a baby last October.

Earlier this year,  Peter and Emily jetted away to the UAE for some winter sun.

She shared a rare snap of herself and Pete with their children Theo and Amelia as she wished her followers well.

She wrote: “Wishing you all a happy and healthy 2024 from all of us….can’t believe it’s nearly the end of 2023!!!
