‘First I’ve heard of it’ – Boyzone member left completely in dark over major reunion & new business venture plans

POP legends Boyzone are set to become the latest star names to invest in a football club, it’s emerged.
The ’90s boyband are expected to attend a match at Chorley FC this weekend, amid rumours the group are eyeing a bid to buy shares in the English lower league side.
Ronan Keating, Shane Lynch and Keith Duffy are to watch Saturday’s FA Trophy clash against Solihull Moors at Victory Park.
Former Westlife star Brian McFadden is also expected to be at the cup game.
The singers look set to follow in the footsteps of Hollywood A-listers Ryan Reynolds and Rob McElhenney after their success with Wrexham FC in Wales.
National League North team Chorley announced the Boyz could be the new faces of the semi-professional side in a statement hailing the “amazing news”.
They said: “Chorley FC are absolutely thrilled to share some truly exciting news that will undoubtedly ignite a wave of enthusiasm throughout Chorley Football Club and beyond.
“We have just confirmed that world-renowned Boyzone will be joining us for our upcoming home game against Solihull Moors in the Isuzu FA Trophy this weekend.
“This collaboration with Boyzone is part of ongoing discussions that could potentially see them becoming the face of the football club.
“This is a game-changer that has the potential to bring our town into the limelight like never before, generating a buzz and publicity that will shine a bright light on Chorley and the local area.”
It added: “Boyzone’s presence at the game will undoubtedly help create an electric atmosphere, filled with music, joy and a shared love for football and a close-knit, family community.
“Now, we need your support to make this news reach every corner of our community. Please share this incredible update with your friends, family and everyone in between so that everyone can be part of this extraordinary event.”
The Irish Sun has made attempts to contact the famed musicians over the claims.
But singer Mikey Graham — who isn’t named in the press release — told us he’s in the dark over the plans.
He said: “First I heard of it. Maybe it’s something Shane has done? Not sure about the others.”
Last May, Chorley was taken over by London-based entrepreneur Prince Yemoh’s Reset Events Ltd.
Chorley’s announcement sparked rumours that Boyzone would be getting back on the road, but frontman Ronan appeared to pour cold water on that suggestion.
Asked by a fan if the comeback rumour circulating online was true, Keating replied: “No, it’s not.”
Boyzone, who have had six UK No1 singles, split in 2000 before regrouping in 2007. In 2018, they confirmed plans to split for good after releasing one final album dedicated to singer Stephen Gately who died in Mallorca in 2009.
