Viewers flocked to social media to blast the music choice as 'disgraceful' and 'inappropriate' as the heartbreaking scenes played out on screen and in another scene the Bay City Rollers' Bye Bye Baby played.

"@ITVCorrie playing 'bye bye baby' at the start of the 2nd show is very insensitive," tweeted one viewer. "I'm a bereaved mum and didn't like this at all."

"Bye Bye Baby in the background in the Rovers is quite inappropriate," said a third while another added: "Bye Bye Baby on in the Rovers whilst Michelle's having a miscarriage? Disgraceful."

The music appeared to be all baby themed in the Rovers as Michelle and Leanne's joint baby shower continued on.
