THIS Brit acting superstar looks unrecognisable as he transforms into 'Jesus' for a new comedy movie.
The screen legend, 47, plays a begger named Benjamin in The Book of Clarence, but is mistaken for the religious leader and nailed to a cross.
Fans will be delighted to see none other that Dr Strange and Sherlock star Benedict Cumberbatch as one of the film's down-on-his-luck protagonists.
The real Jesus is portrayed by Captain America and For Life star Nicholas Pinnock, 50, in the biblical comedy-drama, which was released last month.
Benedict is seen in the trailer dressed in rags with filthy matted brown hair and a face caked in mud and grime, worlds away from his usual clean-cut look.
The plot revolves around a downtrodden Jerusalemite who tries to influence the Messiah for personal gain through celebrity.
