Towie’s James Argent caught up in race row over deleted N-word tweet posted from lads’ holiday to Dubai
Someof his followers hit out at the caption but James defended himself saying it was the lyric from his friend's song
JAMES Argent has been caught up in a race row over a deleted 'N' word tweet he posted while on a lads' holiday in Dubai.
The Towie star originally shared the controversial caption on his Instagram and Twitter but quickly edited it following backlash from fans.
In the snap, James and his pal pose while doing the peace sign in a buggy on a sand dune in Dubai.
He originally captioned the picture: "In the desert baby....Me & these N***** ain't the same!!! X."
The gaffe was posted on his Twitter account but he later altered the one on his Instagram to remove the letter 'N'.
However, a number of his followers had already spotted the faux pas.
One wrote: "You and these what?"
Another added: "Defo not the same mate, you're white" while a third said: "he had n****** before he took it off".
However, a rep for James said he meant "no offence" by using the 'N' word in his photo caption.
A spokesperson said: "The words in question are lyrics from a friend’s song who recorded the music video in Dubai. No offence was intended."
Meanwhile, James has also been struggling with his weight but has vowed to shed the extra pounds for the final time.
Before Christmas, he posted a picture of himself in a gym following a workout and admitted he was devastated he'd gained weight again after managing to lose over three stone last year.
Next to the picture James told his fans: “Training camp starts today!
“Gutted at how unfit I am but I'll get there & maintain it this time!”
