Taylor Swift and Zayn Malik trash London hotel room while filming sexy promo for Fifty Shades Darker song

ROCK and roll stars of old used to smash up hotel rooms for fun — and now two of pop’s ­biggest superstars are bringing the tradition back.

I’ve learned that TAYLOR SWIFT and ZAYN MALIK trashed a London venue as part of a shocking and sexy promo for their latest single.

While they didn’t throw any TV sets out of windows, the production crew had to switch off alarms at the St Pancras Renaissance as normally squeaky clean Taylor, set the curtains on fire.

Zayn trashed a lamp and tore up pillows in the five-star setting, where rooms cost up to £2,500 per night.

A source revealed: “Zayn trashed the hotel room to bits, ripping apart pillows and smashing a lamp up against the wall.

“Taylor had to light the curtains on fire for her part. The smoke alarms were turned off on the nearby floors so that the building didn’t have to be evacuated.

“At one point Taylor smashed a mirror in the bathroom.

“All the scenes were carefully planned. It’s going to be a very sexy video. Zayn was dressed dapper and Taylor was wearing garters and heels.”

Taylor flew from Nashville in a private jet to shoot the destructive video with Zayn for I Don’t Wanna Live Together, which they released last month.

The song is part of the soundtrack for Fifty Shades Darker, which comes out next month.

I previously told how Taylor and Zayn recorded their parts for the song separately — and she didn’t hang around for dinner at the local Nando’s with him after shooting her scenes either.

My source added: “She flew straight back to Nashville and left him alone.”

As long as she didn’t leave him to clean up the mess, too.

Gigi's Hadid up to here

It seems like GIGI HADID needed a bit of entertainment while her boyfriend ZAYN MALIK and best pal TAYLOR SWIFT were out of town filming their new video.

She looked thoroughly bored while posing for another Max Mara shoot, this time its spring/summer collection.

Gigi, who has been dating ex ONE DIRECTION star Zayn for well over a year, flung her legs in the air and sprawled out on the floor to model a pair of sunglasses, bag and an outfit that was quite inappropriate for lounging around in.

Try a onesie next time, Gigi.

U2 going back to tree roots

Irish rockers U2 are back – and they’re bringing their friends, too.

BONO and the boys have announced a massive tour to mark the 30th anniversary of their huge hit record The Joshua Tree.

They will play the Grammy-winning album which has sold a staggering 25million copies, in its entirety for the first time across stadiums in Europe and America.

Bono said: “Recently I listened back to The Joshua Tree for the first time in nearly 30 years. It’s quite an opera.

“A lot of emotions which feel strangely current – love, loss, broken dreams, seeking oblivion, polarisation  . . . all the greats.

“I’ve sung some of these songs a lot but never all of them (in one show). I’m up for it, if our audience is as excited as we are.”

Joining them over the three-month tour, which kicks off in May, will be MUMFORD & SONS, THE LUMINEERS, ONEREPUBLIC and superfan NOEL GALLAGHER, with his band HIGH FLYING BIRDS.

Noel has long been vocal about his love for the stadium heroes but it seems his brother is getting jealous.

Shortly after the announcement, his bitter former OASIS bandmate LIAM GALLAGHER took to Twitter to moan about Noel’s involvement.

He wrote: “I see all that brown nosing is finally starting to pay off. NO SHAME.”

He won’t be invited to the opening night.

New songs McFly-ing

I have good news for McFLY fans.

After getting back together for a career-spanning tour in September, the band have started work on new material.

Singer TOM FLETCHER is currently on a writing trip working on songs for what would be their first album in seven years.

It’s the longest they’ve made the public wait for a record.

Last year they revealed they had previously made two albums but both had been scrapped.

Fingers crossed this one doesn’t go the same way.

No wallflower

He is the only one to have survived a year of LITTLE MIX break-ups – and it doesn’t look like JED ELLIOTT’s getting his marching orders soon.

THE STRUTS bassist shared this photo of girlfriend JADE THIRLWALL looking happier than ever as they celebrated their one-year anniversary in the Maldives.

The couple were introduced by JESY NELSON and then-fiancé JAKE ROCHE, who called off their engagement in November.

They might want to avoid Jade and Jed’s Insta for a while.

A little helping hand

ED SHEERAN’s new album cover has its own back story.

The singer said: “I painted the cover and DAMIEN HIRST let me use his big spin machine and he just left me in there with a load of paint and I threw it on the spin machine and made my album cover, which was quite cool.”

Ed also teased his plans to team up with fellow Brit JAMES CORDEN for his first Carpool Karaoke.

He told ROMAN KEMP on Capital: “I’ve been in touch with James Corden about this for three years because he wanted me to do the first one and I just wasn’t around.

“I can confirm that at some point this year I will be doing a Carpool Karaoke.”

Yesterday it was announced 16 different hosts – including ARIANA GRANDE and ALICIA KEYS – will feature when Carpool Karaoke TV comes to Apple Music without James at the helm.
