three lions are rooined

Tina Moore says ex-hubby and England ace Bobby would have despaired at boozy antics of Wayne Rooney and current team

Tina is set to be played by Michelle Keegan in new ITV drama about her relationship with the late England legend - who captained team to 1996 World Cup victory

ENGLAND legend BOBBY MOORE became a national hero when he captained the Three Lions to their World Cup win in 1966.

But the late star’s ex-wife Tina Moore — played in a new drama by MICHELLE KEEGAN — said he would have despaired at some of the drunken antics of the current team.

And she said the West Ham legend would never have behaved like current England skipper WAYNE ROONEY did in November, boozing at a wedding while on national team duty as exposed in The Sun.

Tina said: “Bobby would never have abused the armour that was given to him by doing anything disrespectful to the shirt or England.

"It seems now that modern-day footballers don’t care as much for their country, which is a great pity.”

She also branded former England manager SAM ALLARDYCE as “shady”. He resigned last year after being caught in an undercover sting by reporters posing as businessmen with whom he negotiated a £400,000 deal.

Commenting on the scandal, Tina added: “It is greedy isn’t it? Bobby would never have been one of those managers.

And Tina says Bobby would despair at boozy antics of current players, like Wayne Rooney who got smashed at a hotel party recently

“His pride wouldn’t have allowed him to be a shady manager.”

Tina — whose love story with her famous husband is being retold in new three-part drama Tina And Bobby starting on ITV on Friday at 9pm — also described how much he treasured his England shirt.

She said: “All his shirts he ever had from England were bought home and they were washed and packed away in tissue paper; they were treasured.

Michelle Keegan will play Tina in the drama

“His mother used to iron his bootlaces — that clearly doesn’t happen any more.”

The drama will follow the lovebirds’ rise from humble beginnings to the international spotlight as Bobby rose to fame.

It also includes his courageous cancer battle, which he finally lost in 1993. This is going to be a fantastic watch.

Strictly eyes Oksana's hubby

STRICTLY newcomer OKSANA PLATERO had her husband slightly worried when she signed up to the show last year because of its dreaded curse.

JONATHAN PLATERO is also a dancer but was shocked when he saw the UK competition’s long history of break-ups.

Now I’ve learned the American salsa specialist, who competed on US show So You Think You Can Dance, is being lined up to appear this year after meeting BBC1 bosses.

Insiders say the pair desperately missed each other and that Jonathan impressed when he travelled to London to help Oksana choreograph her routines with JUDGE RINDER.

A source said: “I know she was missing Jonathan as they haven’t been married long and it’s hard to come to work for months in a strange city.

“Jonathan is a TV veteran and has also been a world salsa finalist, so knows his stuff. I think show bosses are keen to sign him up to ensure Oksana stays and doesn’t return to LA.”

There could be a space for a new male dancer if producers decide to let veteran ANTON DU BEKE replace former head judge LEN GOODMAN.

That would be a hit with the fans.

SOAPBOX

CAIN threatens to kill Lachlan in tonight’s EMMERDALE.

The warning comes as Cain tries to force his mum Chrissie to sign over her share of the garage business. And when Lachlan is beaten up in prison, Chrissie feels like she’s got no choice. In EASTENDERS the women of Walford are supposed to be enjoying an Italian night in the Queen Vic. But all Shirley wants to know is who the father of Denise’s baby is. Things don’t go well in the kitchen either when Abi storms out after an argument with Johnny, leaving him to prepare all the food. I’m not sure this will become a regular pub night.

Viewers' mystery turn-off

USUALLY the plot is the main surprise with Sherlock – but this week the big shock was its lowest-ever ratings.

The BBC1 drama had a peak audience of just 6.3million on Sunday night, more than two million fewer than had tuned in for last week’s opener.

And the slump is 400,000 down on the previous series low of 6.7million that was recorded for the show’s second episode in 2010.

Bosses will be scratching their heads over the drop in interest for stars BENEDICT CUMBERBATCH and MARTIN FREEMAN.

The last time a full series was aired, it drew 9.1million viewers, becoming the Beeb’s most-watched drama for more than a decade when catch-up figures were included.

But BBC sources said the shows have performed “extremely well” on iPlayer, with many people not watching it live.

Sherlock’s next case will be to find the missing audience.
