When is Streetmate on Channel 4 and how does it work?
Streetmate continues its three-week nightly run on Friday, September 8 at 5.30pm on Channel 4.
The dating show takes those looking for love literally onto the streets of the UK in order to find someone to go on a date with.
It originally ran from 1998 to 2001, and was hosted by the then relatively unknown TV presenter, Davina McCall.
During the show, unsuspecting shoppers were put on the spot by Davina as she ran around looking for love for her participant. Once she bagged them a date, they would later return and report on how successful the show was.
The dating show became a cult favourite but was pulled from Channel 4's schedule in 2001 - with a short-lived reboot moving to ITV2 in 2007, hosted by Holly Willoughby.
Streetmate returned for a one-off special for Stand Up to Cancer's telethon in October 2016 and proved to be such a hit that Channel 4 bosses have decided to bring the show back for another series.
Is Scarlett Moffatt hosting Streetmate?
Following her success as the bright and bubbly star of Gogglebox, and her win of 2016's series of I'm A Celebrity Get Me Out Of Here, we revealed that Scarlett Moffatt had bagged the presenting role when the show reboots.
A source exclusively told The Sun: “The Channel 4 bosses are keen to make Scarlett one of their stand-out stars, and these two massive gigs are very much a part of that plan.
“Streetmate is an already- established show, so they are showing real confidence in her by signing her up when she has no presenting experience."
On the announcement, Scarlett said: “I remember watching Davina on Streetmate when I was younger and thinking females can present entertainment shows too, I want to do that when I'm older.
"It's such a fun show and it's two of my favourite things to do, chat to randomers and a love story.”
The star revealed she hopes to find love for herself on Streetmate after her year-long romance with Geordie lover Luke Crodden go up in flames after she won I’m A Celebrity in 2016.
“I’m hoping when I present Streetmate I can find a date for myself… forgot what it’s like to interact with the opposite sex,” she wrote on Twitter on Thursday.
