The actress arrived at the ITV studio with just minutes before her scheduled slot on the famous sofa with Piers Morgan and Susanna Reid.

Piers said: “Our next guest we can’t give too much of an introduction to because up until about 10 minutes ago she wasn’t going to make it.

“But she’s here, Michelle Keegan! What a drama! There’s the Tube strike and then you were stuck in traffic.”

Michelle responded: "I literally just come through the door two minutes ago without a scrap of makeup.

"I’ve had five at once people putting powder, blusher and a bit of lippy on.

"So yeah, I’m alright now.

"I can breathe – I’m here!"

Despite appearing on the show to discuss her role in Tina and Bobby, Piers couldn't resist a cheeky question about her marriage to Mark Wright.

He teased: "You said recently that you're always broody, how are your broody levels right now?

"Can we expect them to migrate into something a little bit more substantial?"

Michelle replied: "They're always up and down! At the minute they're probably down.

"While I was filming for the role I obviously had to work with kids, and yeah, I loved it.

"[I'd love to have a little family] but not in the near future."

After missing part of her slot due to the travel delays, Piers joked after rushing through the interview: "What else would you like to plug in the 20 seconds we have left?"

Michelle added: "Tina and Bobby is out on Friday and it's on ITV and I want people to tune in."
