Golden Globes 2017: Jessica Biel, Emily Ratajkowski, Drew Barrymore and Mandy Moore compete to have the most daring neckline on the Golden Globes red carpet

JESSICA Biel set the bar when it came to plunging necklines on the the Golden Globes red carpet.

Her Elie Saab gown was cut right down to her navel – with just the two large straps covering her modesty.

It seems she started the trend as many of Sunday evening’s leading ladies also took the plunge and showed off their best assets in very revealing dresses.

Model Emily Ratajkowski also wore an Eli Saab gown which was open to her belly button.

She playfully skipped onto the red carpet and played around with her dress for the waiting photographers.

The golden gown was held in place by a clever neck piece which stopped it from slipping but the 25-year-old was caught out from the side, flashing a hint of side boob.

Emily wasn’t alone, with actress Drew Barrymore also daring to bare.

The 41-year-old looked stunning in a silver gown which was totally sheer at the front, showing off her décolletage.

Kristen Bell also went for the plunge in a black Jenny Packham gown.

The full length dress was cut wide open at the chest - with a black panel covering her toned stomach.

Actress Priyanka Chopra’s Ralph Lauren gown also left little to the imagination.

The shimmering dress hugged the 34-year-old’s figure to perfection and proved a hit with style spotters on the night.

Simone Biles, Mandy Moore and Christine Evangelista also opted for similarly daring gowns.

Christine's crimson dress proved to be one of the biggest hits of the event, with hundreds of fans commenting on her style on social media.

The ladies were joined on the night by some of the biggest names in Hollywood including Blake Lively and her husband Ryan Reynolds, Olivia Culpo, Reese Witherspoon and Nicole Kidman.

The ceremony on Sunday evening saw huge gains for British talent who walked away with numerous gongs.

Tom Hiddleston, Olivia Colman and Hugh Lawrie all bagged awards at the prestigious event.

The ceremony got off to an eventful start after host Jimmy Fallon's autocue failed.

He sailed through the technical error like a pro however and had the audience in fits of laughter with his ad libs.

Not everyone was deemed a winner on the night however, with Carrie Underwood and Kathryn Hahn accused of missing the mark when it came to their outfit choices.

Leading ladies Emma Stone and Kristin Cavallari shone however and were praised for their stunning fashion choices.

The night wasn’t only just for the winners however, lovers taking centre stage on the red carpet.

Amy Adams was inseparable from her husband Darren Le Gallo, while Nicole Kidman wouldn’t let her husband Keith Urban out of her sight.

During the ceremony, an emotional tribute was paid to Carrie Fisher and her mother Debbie Reynold’s- who tragically died just 24 hours apart over Christmas.

Meryl Streep was also honoured at the event, while Ryan Gosling thanked his wife Eva Mendes for her support after he walked away with the best actor gong.

Andrew Garfield and Ryan Reynold came under the spotlight later in the evening as they were spotted in a steamy embrace.

Spiderman star Andrew comforted Ryan after he lost out on a Golden Globe by giving him a kiss on the lips – much to the amusement of viewers.
