Tonight, as she made her entrance, her fans took to Twitter to welcome her back and share how happy they were to see her again.

Others wanted to share their happiness at seeing one of their favourites back on the box.

One wrote: “Hurrah for the return of @danniiminogue to our Saturday telly screens. Welcome back.”

Another added: “How fabulous to have the beautiful @danniiminogue back on prime time TV. A bit of glamour just came back to Saturday nights.”

And one fan gushed: “Got to say. @danniiminogue like a fine wine. Puts a lot to shame.”

Dannii has not been seen on terrestrial TV in the UK since 2010 when she was a judge on The X Factor, having spent the previous three years on the show.

She announced in 2011 that she would not be returning to the panel because the audition dates clashed with the live shows of Australia’s Got Talent.

In 2013 she joined the judging panel of Sky Living’s reality TV show Britain & Ireland’s Next Top Model.
