Come Dine With Me contestant removed from the show without explanation
Mystery surrounds why Rory Nicoll was taken off after the night at his home
A CONTESTANT on Come Dine With Me was removed from the show without explanation after hosting dinner at his home.
In what appears to be a first for the popular Channel 4 reality show, music producer Rory Nicoll was taken off last night’s episode and no reason was given.
The 40-year-old took part in two nights of the Central Scotland edition of the programme and then hosted a dinner at his home.
During his night, he got into an odd argument with a fellow contestant over which Take That member was more talented.
As the show moved on to the next night, the scoreboard flashed up on screen – and there was a big red cross over Rory’s face.
Narrator Dave Lamb told viewers that Rory had been removed after "incidents that happened away from the dinner party" and would not be returning.

The Sun Online has contacted Channel 4 for comment.
Viewers were left baffled with one even submitting a Freedom of Information act to Channel 4.
And other viewers took to their Twitter page to ask where Rory had gone.
One wrote: "Would love to know why Rory was booted off Come Dine With Me. Don't think I've ever seen someone 'removed' from the competition before!"
Another added: "Rory got booted off Come Dine With Me tonight, what's that all about?!"
And one other user joked: "Come Dine With Me in Central Scotland - they've removed Rory. I reckon it's due to his appalling taste in music."
This isn’t the first controversial incident on the show, which first aired in 2005 and sees amateur cooks compete against each other by hosting a dinner party for the other contestants over the space of a week.
Each competitor then rates the host's performance with the winner winning a £1,000 cash prize.
This week marks the anniversary of the most cringe worthy episode of the show.
In January 2016, viewers were left baffled and in hysterics after contestant Peter Marsh threw a huge strop when he found out he had come last in the competition.
