The comedian says that George’s hectic schedule prevented him from going on the X-rated show

GEORGE Michael “really wanted” to appear on Keith Lemon’s cheeky panel show Celebrity Juice – despite the comedian mocking him in a toilet sketch.

Speaking exclusively to The Sun Online Keith – aka Leigh Francis, revealed that the late singer’s busy schedule stopped the guest slot from ever happening.

“I never met George Michael, but I was nearly gonna do something with him,” said Keith.

“He really wanted to do something with us and then the timings didn’t work out, I can’t remember why.

“He did a tweet about Juice or me, and that’s why we approached him, but in the end he couldn’t do it for time, but it’s weird knowing George Michael knew who we were.”

Keith previously performed a sketch for the show in which he did an impression of George asking for crack in public toilets, however he’s certain that George would have seen the funny side.

“I think he might have seen the sketch, because when people do one of me on telly, it’ll be sent to me and I’ll be like, ‘Oh yeah it’s good.’

“You have to say you like it otherwise you look bitter and twisted, but he had a good sense of humour didn’t he George Michael, so I think he would’ve laughed at himself.

“When he got caught in toilets and did that song Outside, sticking two fingers up - I thought that were ace.”

Speaking about the star’s death on Christmas day, Keith added: “It was a shock, it put a damper over Christmas, I was in these jolly spirits and suddenly these icons dying killed it, it was weird.

“We should like people more when they’re alive I think, because we forget how great people are.

“We’re all cynics and bitter and twisted inside, and we should all be more blasé and happy go lucky, and if we think someone’s ace we should say it.

“Go up to them and tell them, ‘You’re ace!’”

Keith's new series of Through The Keyhole starts Saturday 7th January, 9.35pm, ITV.
