Gavin was on the show to talk about The Voice, which is set to start on Saturday, January 8.

Chatting briefly to hosts Davina McCall and Phillip Schofield, Gavin flashed a smile as they introduced him.

But as the cameras pulled away to an advert break, Gavin suddenly flicked his fingers up.

One shocked fan tweeted: “Did @GavinRossdale just flick us the V's on @thismorning?”

Another commented: “New voice coach on @thismorning just doesn't want to be there I think.”

Phillip and Davina both swerved the incident when they spoke to Gavin and he made sure he didn’t do it again.

Alongside Jennifer Hudson, Gavin is the latest judge to join The Voice UK and since it's move to ITV, it seems they're determined to find a star this year.

Jennifer, 35, who found fame on American Idol in 2004, added: “I think with the combination of us it will help them to learn a lot so they can make it in the industry.

“It takes more than just talent, it’s just as much about business.

“We can teach them that to last and sustain, and know how to be in this game. I think we might actually have more than one star. Stars.”

And Sir Tom Jones, 76, who returns to the panel after a feud with BBC bosses, said: “I hope so – it’s got all the ingredients.

“We’ve got some really, really strong singers.

"But as we all know it takes more than that. It's about material. Getting a hit record is not an easy thing. It's up to them.”

He added: “This is all about singing - that's why it's called The Voice. It's not about dog acts or juggling or anything else - this is all about singing.

“So if you're a singer and you want to be a famous singer, The Voice is the show to be on.”
