Who is Mark Dolan? The Jump 2017 star and Balls of Steel TV presenter eliminated in the second episode
MARK Dolan was just beginning to woo audiences on the new series of The Jump as he took to the slopes in a bid to out-ski fellow competitors.
Many viewers consider the show – which started on February 5 – to be the most dangerous thing on TV screens.
And while the funny man didn’t succumb to a sprained ankle or broken rib, he did become the second celebrity to leave the competition on February 12.
Here’s what we know about the comedian as his time on the new series comes to an end.
Who is Mark Dolan and how did he start as a comedian?
Mark was born in Camden, London in 1974.
He started life working the circuit as a stand-up comedian in 2000.
During his time, the presenter has premiered a one man show at Edinburgh Fringe Festival.
Titled I’m Here to Help, the show saw the funny man attempt to assist audience members with their real life problems.
He’s also still a regular host at the Amused Moose Soho comedy club in London.
What is Balls of Steel?
Mark is probably best known for hosting the much-loved Channel 4 prank show from 2005 to 2008.
The popular series saw Mark head up a team of comedians including Alex Zane and Tim Shaw.
Mark was credited for his work on the show with a gong for Best Presenter in 2011 at the Reality Television Awards.
He’s also fronted a run of documentaries for Channel 4 which include The World’s Hairiest Person and Me, The World’s Most Enhanced Woman and Me, and The World’s Strongest Child and Me.
Who were Destiny’s Dad and can Mark really dance?
Mark surprised his fans when he strutted his stuff on the dance floor as one third of dancing trio Destiny’s Dad.
Helping to raise money for charity, the 6ft 5in TV favourite joined fellow comedians Hal Cruttenden and Mark Dolan in a spoof of American girl group Destiny’s Child.
The pals wore an array of frilly outfits to dance to Bootylicious in 2013 during an appearance on Let’s Dance for Comic Relief.
When did Mark Dolan do Come Dine With Me?
And it’s seems Mark’s talents are endless, as his cooking skills were also judged on a Christmas edition of Come Dine With Me.
Aired in 2014, Mark was joined by former Corrie actress Helen Flanagan, presenter Kirsten O’Brien and Happy Mondays frontman Shaun Ryder.
But despite the stiff competition, Mark was triumphant with his Dickensian menu which included a three-bird roast.
