Loose Woman Nadia Sawalha admits couples counselling saved her marriage
The presenter recently revealed husband Mark's battle with alcoholism
NADIA Sawalha has admitted her marriage was saved by counselling.
The Loose Women presenter made the revelations as the ITV panel discussed the high number of people who consider divorce after the festive period.
Nadia, who married Mark Adderley in 2002, told viewers: "Mark and I went to couples counselling and it was brilliant – I would definitely say it’s so worth it."
And when co-host Andrea McLean asked her: "Would you say it saved your marriage?", the actress was quick to respond: "Yeah."
Nadia, who recently revealed her husband's struggles with alcoholism, said: "Extraordinary things do happen when you go to a couples counsellor.
"I think the main thing it taught us is that you stop listening to each other.

"They teach you to listen. We think we know everything.
"It's so easy to get in that pattern of not listening to your partner – we just weren’t listening to each other."
At the end of last year, Nadia posted a video where she and her husband discussed the alcoholism that plagued the early years of their marriage.
Mark revealed it took him a long time to admit he was an alcoholic, and even when he entered The Priory in around 2005, he still struggled to say the words.
He said: “I couldn’t admit I was an alcoholic for three days, I just said, ‘My name is Mark and I drink too much’.”
Mark has been sober for ten years.
