Masked Singer fans convinced Bigfoot is Strictly star – after huge US singing legend is sent home
A top Channel 4 comedian is also in the frame
MASKED Singer fans are convinced they’ve worked out the celebrity behind he Bigfoot character.
The lovable hairball, who stepped on stage with an underarm crutch and a bandaged foot, performed Moana track You’re Welcome, which was originally sung by Dwayne ‘The Rock’ Johnson.
The feel-good character had viewers speculating Bigfoot is Strictly champ and wildlife photographer Hamza Yassin.
One fan was particularly sure, writing on X: “Hamza Yassin for Bigfoot.”
A second asked: “Does anyone else think Bigfoot is Hamza Yassin???”
However, many more think another TV star is in the frame, The Last Leg’s Alex Brooker.
And the clue’s up until now seemingly fit the comedian more than Hamza.
Firstly, there’s the star’s prosthetic leg, and he dropped an even bigger clue when he mentioned working with a rhino in a sporting capacity – Alex famously signed up to play rugby for the Leeds Rhinos Foundation PDRL team.
He said: “You may think my talent is quite preposterous, but my strength was once linked to a sporting rhinoceros.”
The first star to be unmasked was US legend Dionne Warwick.
The Walk On By singer competed as Weather and was a huge name to go out first.
Producers had assumed she would stay on the programme as she sounded so good.
But after leaving the show, Dionne admitted: “They said I’d be here for this many weeks, and I said, ‘No I’m not. I can’t disguise my voice. The minute I open my mouth, I’m gone!’
“I have never been able to disguise my voice.
“That’s been my blessing and I never want to disguise it.
“So, the minute I opened my mouth, everybody sussed it out.”
Dionne also revealed that despite being based in US soul, she has worked and lived in the UK so much over the years that the British were just as likely to know it was her as people in the States.
She said: “It’s at a point now where a lot of people thought I lived here.
“I was here so much and doing so many concerts throughout the entire portion of England and the entire area.”
The 83-year-old is arguably the most famous person to appear on The Masked Singer and one of its oldest contestants.
