Nineties DJ and wild partier Brandon Block to join Jamie O’Hara and Bianca Gascoigne as latest star to sign up to Celebrity Big Brother
The musician, who famously spent £2,000 a week on cocaine and once drunkenly stormed the stage at the Brit Awards, reportedly can't wait for his return to the spotlight
SUPERSTAR Nineties DJ BRANDON BLOCK became more well-known for his hedonistic partying than music at the height of his fame.
One highlight was him storming the stage at the Brit Awards in 2000 and getting into a furious war of words with ROLLING STONES guitarist RONNIE WOOD.
But the musician, who admitted to spending up to £2,000 a week on his cocaine addiction, is now on the straight and narrow and set to enter the Celebrity Big Brother house when the Channel 5 show returns at 9pm tomorrow.
The DJ who was once told he had just two weeks to live because of his rock ‘n’ roll lifestyle is the latest name to join the line-up alongside footballer JAMIE O’HARA, rapper RAY J and model BIANCA GASCOIGNE.
A source said: “Brandon was a huge name in the Nineties.
“He was on radio constantly and his hard-partying ways were all over the papers.
“Not only was he a successful DJ but also a big producer throughout the late Eighties, too. When CBB offered him a spot this year he was well up for it.
"He’s got some great stories in him and can’t wait to be back in the public eye again.”
Brandon disappeared out of the public eye in the Noughties after years of caning but emerged in 2009 to front a Government campaign against drug use, which also starred Peep Show’s DAVID MITCHELL.
Brandon — who achieved chart success under the name BLOCKSTER and still gigs regularly — said at his worst he was going through thousands of pounds of cocaine a day and ended up in rehab in 1996.
But his most famous public appearance was his Brit Awards stage invasion.
Pals had told a drunken Brandon that he had won Musician of the Year at the event — when in fact he had not even been nominated for the award.
Taking to the stage, he argued with Ronnie Wood and American Beauty star THORA BIRCH, while a confused host DAVINA McCALL looked on, powerless to help.

After some shouting and swearing, Ronnie threw his drink in Brandon’s face and security carried him off the stage.
If he causes half as much controversy in the famous CBB house, he will be worth every penny of his booking.
Lee spices up love life
VIEWERS will get a glimpse into the weird ways LEE MACK’s mind works in the new series of Not Going Out.
Lee lives out his character’s fantasy of getting Spice Girl EMMA BUNTON and Countdown’s SUSIE DENT to strip off and share a hot tub.
Lee teased: “Emma is my character’s fantasy hot date. I don’t have one because – write this down – I’m happily married.”
But Lee confessed he is anxious about wife Tara McKillop watching the BBC comedy when it airs on January 13 at 9pm.
Lee admitted: “I am genuinely a little concerned she might watch it and go, ‘Whoa! Whoa! You can’t talk about that, can you? We do that in bed!’”
It might be best to watch this one in the spare room . . .
