But this won’t be just a one-way relationship.

Sources say Charlie — who appeared on TOWIE in 2013 — is hoping to make it big in Los Angeles as a personal trainer.

And they say Mel — who is gearing up for a Spice Girls’ Summer reunion with Geri Horner and Emma Bunton this year — is prepared to help him achieve his goals.

A source said: “They got on at the awards and have been in touch ever since. Charlie is planning his move to LA and Mel has agreed to put him in touch with all the right people in exchange for some fitness coaching.”

Charlie is currently in talks to make an Essex comeback seeing bosses recruit him to help TOWIE favourites Gemma Collins — who he briefly dated before coming out as gay live on This Morning in 2014 — and James Argent shed weight.

Fitness fanatic Mel, 41, was seen exercising in a Rocky-style routine with her personal trainer before battling it out in the final of last year’s The X Factor Australia.

The singer, full name Melanie Brown, returned to the show Down Under after a three-year absence to work alongside mentors Iggy Azalea, Adam Lambert and Guy Sebastian.

Last year she also presented Lip Sync Battle UK on Channel 5  and made a guest judge appearance on The X Factor after agreeing to stand in for the otherwise engaged Nicole Scherzinger.
