Christmas number one ‘revealed’ as classic festive song ‘pulls ahead in race’

THIS year's Christmas number one has been ‘revealed’ as Wham!'s tune Last Christmas.

The song, performed by George Michael and Andrew Ridgeley, originally hit the charts at number two in 1984.

 said: "We've seen so much change at the head of the Christmas number one betting in the absence of LadBaby this year, but the latest odds suggest Wham! have got the festive top spot wrapped up."

It comes after many thought that the passing of The Pogues' Shane McGowan would take their famous hit Fairytale of New York to number one.

LadBaby AKA Mark Hoyle and his wife Roxanne have bagged the top spot for the last five years.

However last month it was revealed that they wouldn't be releasing anything new.

Mark told Radio 2: “I’m not saying I’m retiring from music.
