Victoria Beckham sings her heart out to 2 Become 1 with Mel C on New Years Eve… after shunning Spice Girls reunion
VICTORIA Beckham slipped back into her Posh Spice persona on New Years Eve to sing one of the Spice Girls' biggest hits with Mel C.
The 42-year-old rose to fame in the 90s girlband but chose to hang up her microphone and black mini dresses to focus on her fashion career many years ago.
But on New Year's Eve, her alter ego made a surprising comeback, as she took to the stage alongside her former bandmate, aka Sporty Spice, to belt out their classic ballad, 2 Become 1.
Wearing a long red dress, Victoria sashayed her way on stage as she was watched on proudly by husband David, who was seen standing close to the stage in a hat while carrying their five-year-old daughter Harper.
Wrapping her arm around Mel's waist as she sang, Victoria stuck her hand in the air in a classic girl power pose as they swayed together in time to the music.
Mel then shared the mic with her friend who happily sang along and grinned as Mel gave her a quick kiss on the top of her head.
Meanwhile David danced with his daughter in his arms, and adorably could be seen singing along to the tune.
Mel, also 42, had been hired by her former bandmate to perform at the couple's extravagant New Year's Eve party in the Maldives to make sure 2017 got off to an amazing start.
However their fellow Spice Girls, Geri Horner, Mel B and Emma Bunton, were not on the guest list, despite being the three who have decided to reunite for the group's 20th anniversary celebrations this year.
The trio announced they would be reforming in July last year, but Victoria and Mel C have both opted out of being part of it.
A source previously told The Sun about the New Year plans between Posh and Sporty: "Victoria has been the instigator for the whole trip.
“She’s sorted all the accommodation for both families and ensured Mel is there to perform.
“They’ve always been great pals, but have got closer over the past few months due to their shared stance on the Spice Girls comeback.
“There was no way Mel was going to turn down the invite as the gig will be something special.”
