Viewers gush over Tom Hardy’s adorable appearance on CBeebies as he reads the New Year’s Eve Bedtime Story

HOLLYWOOD star Tom Hardy was a surprise hit on CBeebies on New Year’s Eve.

The 39-year-old actor made a special appearance on the children’s channel to read their daily Bedtime Story.

Tom chose to read You Must Bring a Hat by Simon Phillip and Kate Hindley.

Joining him for the appearance was his adorable dog Woodstock.

The actor follows big names such as David Hasselhoff, Damian Lewis, Sir Derek Jacobi and James McAvoy in signing up for the CBeebies slot.

Following his short story, excited viewers flocked to Twitter to gush over the actor.

Unsurprisingly, the majority of them were much older than the channel’s target audience.

One user asked the channel: "When is he coming back?"

Another joked about the hunky actor: "Just watched Tom Hardy read the bedtime story on #cbeebies. I'm now pregnant."

Hunky actor Tom Hardy is reading a CBeebies festive bedtime story… and it's driving mums wild

A fan named Babs wrote: “Not gonna lie I'm nearly 30 and yet have just sat (with my parents) through and thoroughly enjoyed the CBeebies bedtime story with #TomHardy.”

Simon Botterill, a rather amused husband, joked: “Why is the missus watching bedtime story? That makes no sense, becau... oh right, Tom Hardy is reading it. That explains that.”
