Kardashians star Jonathan Cheban wants top security from Celebs Go Dating bosses after fearing he could be targeted like Kim after terrifying Paris robbery
The former Celebrity Big Brother star has another demand to add to his already burgeoning list of requests
JONATHAN Cheban is so worried about being targeted by criminals like his best friend Kim Kardashian, he’s demanded security guards accompany him on Celebs Go Dating.
Kim was held at gunpoint by an armed gang in October and Jonathan now fears he may suffer the same fate.
But their costs could go through the roof if they agree to his latest request.
A source told The Sun Online: “Jonathan more than anyone knows the risks attached to being well known and having designer gear.
“He has seen first-hand with Kim how easy it can be for people to target you.
“When in Europe Jonathan needs around the clock security to ensure he is safe.
“Jonathan’s known for his designer tastes and often wears ‘one off’ pieces of jewellery so he knows he’s a prime target.”
It’s not surprising Jonathan is fearful: as well as seeing the aftermath of Kim’s terrifying ordeal he was himself the target of a robbery in New York three years ago.
The 42-year-old had posted a picture of a new watch, worth £500,000 on Instagram, and was later targeted by thieves who tried to tear it from his wrist.
Jonathan managed to fight them off and keep his timepiece safe but he was left seriously shaken by the incident.
His request for security is likely to be met however, as most of Jonathan’s demands have been upheld by Celebs Go Dating bosses who feel he is the “star of the show”.
As The Sun Online reported, Jonathan has also asked for a private jet to bring him over to the UK from his home in Los Angeles.
An insider told The MailOnline: “Jonathan has demanded a suit for the duration at the Mandarin Oriental Hotel which costs up to £5,000 per night.
“That’s a total cost of £300,000 for the two months he will stay in the UK.
“Show bosses are referring to him as their star of the show and are set to meet his demands at any cost to ensure he is happy.
“They’re also set to secure Jonathan his own personal driver for his time on the show.”
Jonathan isn’t the only familiar face hoping to find love on the second series of the hit show.
Former Towie beauty Ferne McCann is been rumoured to be in the line-up – while CBB champ Stephen Bear will make an appearance on the show.
They will be joined by former Pussycat Doll Melody Thornton – who released smash hits including Buttons and Don’t Cha alongside Nicole Scherzinger – Britain’s Got Talent Star Perri Kiely and Joey Essex – who found love with Stephanie Pratt after meeting her on the show.
In November E4 confirmed Celebs Go Dating would have two series in 2017, both with 20 episodes each.
Channel 4’s Dom Bird said: “Following the huge success of the first series, E4 is delighted to bring Celebs Go Dating back to our screens for a longer run to find true love for those famous faces most in need of our helping hand.”
