ASHLEY Cain’s ex Safiyya Vorajee has revealed the heartbreaking reason she’ll struggle to start a new family after her daughter’s death.
Aesthetic practitioner Safiyya, 35, split from the reality star, 33, in April last year after supporting each other through the tragic death of their daughter – Azaylia Diamond Cain – to a rare form of cancer.
However, Ashley – who is still close with his former girlfriend – revealed yesterday that he is having a baby with a friend.
But his ex Safiyya has talked about her struggle to meet someone new and start a new family, following the death of her baby and split from Ashley.
Speaking to the BlueTick Show podcast, in an interview that took place before Ashley’s announcement, she said: “I would love to have another family.
“I would love to have that home. I’ve got my house, people say I should be so proud, you’ve done this by yourself.
“And I’m like, yeah, but you see the aesthetic. In my house, it’s so empty. My house should be a home. I want to get to that point where I can create a home and not just have a house.”
She added: “It’s just scary out there. I’m such an old school girl with old school morals.
“The fact I go out and see the generation now. Even dating, people are on all of these apps.
“I used to just meet people. It is insane. So maybe I might just be on my own in the house.”
But Safiyya admitted that she was “worried” about having another baby, and added: “But it is scary after having a child and this is what happened.
“My thing now, I want that family, but I won’t be prepared to sacrifice who I am and my morals as an individual to get that.
“My morals are my morals. If God is going to put me on that path to allow another child to come into my life, then I’m here for it.
“If Azaylia is my one and only daughter that I have until I’m united with her in heaven, then that’s what it’ll be.
“But I need my family. I need to be a mother with the father and have that home. That’s just something I’ve longed for as a child.”
Meanwhile, it comes as Ashley told The Sun of the “difficult conversation” he had with Safiyya after finding out he was going to have another baby with a friend.
Given their close relationship, the reality star, who is set to welcome a boy in January, said it was important for him to sit down with Safiyya about the pregnancy.
He said: “It was painful for Safiyya but it was also painful for me as well to talk to Saffiya.
“Safiyya and I haven’t been together for a while now and it is inevitable that at some stage people are going to move on with their lives – that doesn’t mean that we can’t be friends and have an amazing relationship.
“I know Safiyya will always support me and I will always be there to support Safiyya.
“It wasn’t an easy conversation or filled with smiles but it was a conversation that had a lot of truth and respect.”
However Ashley said that he cannot help but feel ‘guilty’ at the prospect of holding his newborn son next month while his little girl is in heaven.
“When I think about being a daddy again and bringing my son into this world – obviously I do feel guilty because I wish and pray that Azaylia could be here as well,” he said.
“I know that Azaylia would have been the most incredible big sister in the world because she is a fighter – strong and courageous.”
Fighting back tears, he said: “It is tough. Life is tough and everyday for me is tough – as soon as he is old enough I want to take him down to Azaylia’s resting place.
“I want him to know who his big sister is and I want him to understand what she has done for this world.”
Despite their break up, they have dedicated their lives to The Azaylia Foundation – fighting the shortage of doctors and treatments specialised in childhood cancer, while also supporting families requiring treatment abroad.
