She told fans: "Shane got out of the hospital!

"We are deeply and eternally grateful to all of the doctors and nurses and staff at St Vincent’s it’s the best!

"And special thanks to Tom Creagh and Brian Corscadden for your help.

The 65-year-old Pogues singer had been receiving care in hospital for viral encephalitis – a serious condition which leads to brain swelling.

He has been hospitalised a number of times since the diagnosis and was thought to have been admitted again in June, but Victoria has not revealed the exact reasons why.

It's a dream come true for wife Victoria, who had earlier this month revealed hopes of getting the music legend home for the festive season.

In a post to fans last week she said: "Shane is feeling much better today! I am so grateful to everyone who is willing him to get home for the Christmas!"

A host of famous faces, such as Imeda May, have previously paid a visit to Shane whilst he continues to bravely battle the illness.

Fellow musician Spider Stacy, who sometimes sang for The Pogues, and fellow band member Terry Woods were among the latest celebrities to visit the iconic singer.

Country crooner Daniel O'Donnell and Primal Scream legend Bobby Gillsepie were also among those on the visitor's list.

Victoria revealed her gratitude for Shane's celeb pals and said she wanted to extend a "massive thanks" to everyone who has been messaging her and popping in for a visit.

Victoria - who tied the knot with Shane in Copenhagen back in 2018 after decades together - recently opened up about "facing terrifying fears of loss".

HEARTFELT MESSAGE

In a heartfelt message to fans earlier this year, she said: "Love is the most beautiful and powerful thing that we can experience as humans but love can also feel painful especially if you are afraid of losing a person or anything else that you love.

"The really really big challenge that we all face is to go beyond what our minds think are the limits of love and what love really is.

"A lot of the time that thing we call love can more accurately be described as attachment or desire or need or longing or closeness or connection.

"And all of these are totally valuable and human and we need to acknowledge and appreciate and accept every part of our experience."

Victoria, 57, said that sometimes when you "love very deeply" you will "find yourself facing terrifying fears of loss" that can feel "so big and devastating you don't know how to survive them".

She continued: "You can't imagine life without this person that you love.
