Kay Burley hits out at Kirstie Allsopp on Twitter in spat over George Michael death reporting
KAY Burley has slammed Kirstie Allsopp on Twitter after the Location, Location, Location host criticised Sky News' reporting of George Michael's death.
Kirstie took to Twitter to blast the news channel as she thought they focused on the Wham! singer's personal life too much.
She wrote: “.@SkyNews reporting of George Michael's death is appalling, far more focus on the ‘scandal’ than the music.”
But Kay, a Sky News founder member, hit back with: "Oh do shut up Kirstie," - to which the TV presenter retorted: "Clearly a professional journalist, who takes critiscism well. (sic)"
Defending her accusations against Sky News, Kirstie also said: I felt @SkyNews ‘package’ or ‘VT’ was more scandal than music focussed, I said so, unfortunately Kay thought it was all about her, it isn’t.”
Later, she added: "We should all be allowed to express our opinion without fear of rudeness or Twitter trolls, no one gets to broadcast without criticism."
Music legend George Michael died at his home in Oxfordshire at the age of 53 from suspected heart failure.
