Here is everything we know about the Christmas 2016 episode of Gogglesprogs.

What time and day is the Gogglesprogs Christmas special on?

Gogglesprogs Christmas Special will air on Channel 4 at 8pm on Saturday 24 December 2016.

The show first aired during Christmas 2015 with participants watching episodes of The Great British Bake Off, ITV News, and films The Snowman, Frozen, and Jurrassic Park.

A full series followed – airing on Channel 4 over June and July 2016.

What is the format of the show?

Previous series’ of Gogglesprogs has featured ten sets of chatty children giving their verdict on shows and films such as: The Great British Bake Off, Twilight, The Mad World of Donald Trump and Mamma Mia.

The makers of the show say it differs from the traditional Gogglebox format, simply because you are working with children.

“We tried to show the children interesting, engaging material – a mix of documentaries, entertainment shows, news stories, and big classic movies.

“We filmed Gogglesprogs over a couple of months, and then topped it up with material from the past week to keep it up to date.”

What will the kids be watching in the 2016 Christmas special?

Despite ages ranging between from just beyond toddler age to the early teens, the kids will be giving their observations on a surprising range of TV events from the past year - with some rather high brow content.

Donald Trump's spectacular and unprecedented presidential campaign will be discussed - while other TV highlights being reviewed will include Strictly Come Dancing and First Dates.

Wildlife is also on the viewing list thanks to David Attenborough's hugely popular Planet Earth II - which has been known to leave grown adults distressed by the scenes of nature's savage circle of life.

Who are the stars of Gogglesprogs?

A range of kids take seat on the sofa to watch televisual highlights for other TV viewers to then watch.

Brother and sister Molly and William (aged six and nine respectively) will be back to give their opinions.

While best friends Stephanie and Christina will be putting their music differences aside (one loves Justin Bieber, the other prefers classical music) to watch some quality TV together.

Will there be a second series of Gogglesprogs?

The first Christmas special aired to impressive viewing figures – pulling in over 3.5 million viewers.

The first series saw a significant drop in audiences tuning in (pulling under 1.5 million on average).

However applications for a second series opened in September – calling for TV fans aged between four and 13 years of age to take part.
