They were said to have shared a “deep connection” over their experiences of leaving their globally successful pop bands.

Robbie left Take That at the height of the band's fame, and that was exactly what Geri did when she quit the Spice Girls.

Why did Robbie and Geri split up?

Robbie revealed he ditched Geri after being told she was tipping off the press about their relationship - which was completely untrue.

He revealed how he was incorrectly told by a pap that the Spice Girl had let them know where the couple would be,

This was after camcorder footage of them on a yacht during their French vacation hit the headlines.

In his Netflix documentary, Robbie revealed he loved his time with the Spice Girl, something he confirmed when he talked to The Sun.

Speaking exclusively to us about Geri, he said “Geri kindly gave me permission to use (the footage).

“That was a very important holiday for me because I was happy; because I wasn’t before and I wasn’t really for a long time after.

“I have only amazing things to say about her now.

“I never accused her (of going to paps) at the time and obviously I know now she wasn’t.”

The Netflix doc shows them on a summer break with his writing partner Guy Chambers and his wife Emma.

On camera, former Take That star Robbie is seen admitting he was the happiest he had been in a decade with Geri.

However, he implies his paranoia and trust issues stopped their relationship from developing.

He said: “It was a very confusing relationship, because she’s a girl and I’m a boy, we are very good friends trying to sort out the wreckage of the past.

“I just found her company very, very easy - there is a silliness.

“We really got on really well. It was fun.

“We were a little gang that were sharing a very magical moment, in a magical place.”

Who else did Robbie Williams date?

During his single life, Robbie had the pick of the beauties.

One of his very high profile relationships was with model Rachel Hunter, who had recently split from Rod Stewart when they got together.

The pair dated for a year from 2002.

Robbie also dated The Corrs star Andrea Corr.

In 2022, the singer hinted that he had romances with both Kylie Minogue and Nicole Kidman - both he had No. 1 singles with.

It came after he appeared to reveal that their professional relationships may have turned personal while talking to French mag .

Asked about having Kylie and Nicole “in his life”, Robbie said: “Yes, well, we are repeatedly told that we must be in a monogamous relationship and that love will heal us and fill in the gaps

“And that’s what I thought celebrity would do for me. Except that, in both cases (Kylie and Nicole), the reality was disappointing.

“I’m not saying that these women were disappointing, but . . . the relationships you had at 20 are not public, mine are forever.”

The surprised interviewer then told Robbie she had actually been asking about his professional collaboration with the women.

He replied: “Ah darn! I went all alone on slippery ground there.”

Laughing, he added: “Well then, as Bill Clinton would say, I never had any relationship with any of these women.”
