Who is Jody Latham? Shameless actor and EastEnders bad boy – here’s what we know
SHAMELESS star Jody Latham was all set to enter the Celebrity Big Brother house.
The 34-year-old – best known for playing Lip Gallagher in the Channel 4 drama – was due a return to the limelight to take part in the All Stars v New Stars series, but he mysteriously pulled out of the show hours before the launch.

Where is Jody Latham from?
British actor Jody was born in Burnley, Lancashire.
The 34-year-old’s training began at Burnley Youth Theatre, where he attended after being expelled from Walton High School in Nelson.
After having a son, Jack, in his late teens, he landed his first TV role in The Cops.
How is Jody Latham famous?
Following his television debut, Jody shot to fame after starring in a number of much-loved British programmes.
His talent clearly impressed show producers, as he was then cast in five BAFTA winning dramas: Clocking Off, The Cops, The Street, Shameless and EastEnders.
Most people know Jody from his role in Shameless, where he plays the second eldest of the Gallagher children, Lip.
After four years, he left the show to pursue other acting projects, but later returned for the final series in 2013.
He’s since been involved in more popular shows, including Waterloo Road, Hollyoaks, Doctors and Holby City.
One of Jody’s most controversial acting roles was in EastEnders, where he played a pimp that tried to exploit Whitney Dean.
Jody is no stranger to reality TV and appeared in Hell’s Kitchen back in 2009 alongside Grant Bovey – who appeared on the most recent series of CBB.
He ended up being fired following a series of arguments with his fellow contestants, which could make the outspoken actor the perfect addition to the Big Brother house.
What has Jody Latham been up to this year?
The actor has had a difficult year after being accused of harassing ex Apprentice star Adam Hosker after a feud erupted over his ex-fiancee.
He was later cleared and is now keen to win back public support.
A source told The Sun Online: “Jody hasn’t had it easy this year and after a series of dramas he wants people to remember him for good things again.
“He was one of the nation’s most promising actors during his time on Shameless and he’s hoping he’ll be able to recreate that success again after going on CBB.”
