Pregnant Stephanie Davis reveals she delayed DNA test amid fears it could harm her unborn baby as she insists ex Jeremy McConnell knows ‘the truth’ about her son’s paternity
The star has been battling about her baby's paternity for months
PREGNANT Stephanie Davis has revealed she has delayed giving her baby a DNA test to find out if Jeremy McConnell is the father - because it is too dangerous.
The former Hollyoaks star fell pregnant following a tumultuous fling with the Irish star after they met in the Celebrity Big Brother house at the start of the year, but Jeremy has always denied he is the father and demanded a DNA test.
Discussing the DNA test, she added: "I'm keeping that private. I'll sort that with him.
"If I could have done one straight away, I would have, but it was too dangerous for the baby."
Jeremy has previously hit back at claims he is the father – as he believes Steph was with other men shortly after their split.
When news broke of his upcoming fatherhood, he blasted.“That’s ridiculous. I’m not going to be a dad. If she is pregnant, it’s not mine.
“If I was a dad, I’d be 100 percent no, 110 percent, the best dad in the world.
“But you’ll see in the future that it’s not my kid, and she’ll look like a mug.”
And addressing his request for a DNA test – he said in a statement to Loose Women earlier this year: “In the months after we split, I saw videos online of her in bed with guys, which is why I said I would ask for a test to prove I’m the dad.
“Having a baby won’t fix what me and Steph tried to fix so many times.”
Meanwhile Steph is gearing up to welcome her baby and she told fans yesterday that the “finishing line is in sight”.
She also shared a picture of herself building a crib as she gets ready to become a first-time mum.
Keeping fans up to date, she wrote: “So looking forward to today…“Last few weeks..eeeek… He’s going to be here so soon!..
“As if the finishing line is in sight! Can’t believe It…”
She added in a later message: “Perfect end to an amazing evening.
“I honestly wouldn’t have it any other way. PS where’s Bob the Builder when you need him.”
