Huge Nineties rock gods to reunite for massive stadium tour and brand new album
THEY have helped soundtrack over two decades of angst and anarchy, but Green Day aren’t mellowing in their fifties.
The Sun can reveal the long-running American band is on the cusp of an epic comeback in a matter of weeks.
The group, fronted by Billie Joe Armstrong, are gearing up to drop their new single The American Dream is Killing Me.
It will be the first tune from their 14th studio album, which I’m told fans can expect to be released in January.
The record will be their first in four years, following their 2020 chart topper Father of All Motherf**kers.
The group have also lined up a massive stadium tour for next summer.
A source said: “It’s going to be a massive year for Green Day fans. The guys are super proud of the album.
“It’s got more of a modern twist then previous albums but it’s still very much a Green Day record.
“Everything kicks off this month with the album dropping at the start of 2024.
“A string of stadium level gigs have been lined up over the summer - it’s going to be huge.”

They will return to the stage this weekend at When We Were Young Festival in Las Vegas and have teased an announcement for next Tuesday.
Since forming back in 1987, Green Day have sold over 85 million records worldwide.
In the UK alone they have bagged four No1 albums and 22 Top 40 hits.
It sounds like next year will only extend those numbers.
