Holly Willoughby cancels family holiday to Portugal as she is too scared to leave the house amid alleged kidnap plot
HOLLY Willoughby has cancelled her holiday to Portugal as she is too scared to leave the house, The Sun on Sunday can reveal.
The TV host, 42, who quit the show after 14 years on Tuesday, has shelved her annual plans to spend her kids’ October half- term at her home in the Algarve.
It comes in the wake of police foiling an alleged kidnap and murder plot against her, revealed by The Sun.
Instead Holly, her TV producer husband Dan Baldwin, 48, and their three children Harry, 14, Belle, 12, and Chester, nine, will stay in the UK for her own safety.
A source said: “Holly and her family always make sure they get away to their Portugal holiday home for a change of scenery in October half-term to get the last rays of sunshine before it gets cold and dark and winter sets in.
“But she is petrified to leave the house and doesn’t want to be away from the security she has in place in the UK.

“She doesn’t know if she will be safe to go abroad and wants to stay in her comfort zone. Her priority is her family and focusing on them at this distressing time.”
Holly’s shock departure from This Morning comes after she had thrown herself into helping to rebrand the ITV daytime show following her former co-star Phillip Schofield’s exit.
He left the channel in May after admitting to an affair with a young runner.
Holly had not yet signed her lucrative new contract for the show, which was due to be up later this year, we can also reveal.
Meanwhile, she is yet to confirm if she will be back to host ITV prime-time show Dancing On Ice in the new year, but pals say she is hopeful.
An insider added: “It’s too soon for Holly to make an official decision about it, but she, and ITV, are hopeful she’ll feel up to it.
“She doesn’t have to make the decision for a few weeks.”
On Tuesday, Holly made an emotional statement on Instagram announcing her decision to quit This Morning, after it had previously been revealed she was on “indefinite leave”.
She thanked everyone who had worked with her and admitted it was “such a difficult goodbye”.
