ED Sheeran’s US-based girlfriend has moved back to the UK to be with him full time, with friends saying their relationship is getting serious.
The singer, 25, and former school pal Cherry Seaborn have been dating since mid-2015, and are now moving things to the next level ahead of his hotly anticipated comeback next year.
The couple have so far endured a long-distance relationship but will be able to spend plenty of time together after Cherry transferred her job at a top accountancy firm from New York to London.
A source said: "They are getting more serious about each other and have been able to spend some quality time together now Cherry has moved back to the UK.
“Now Ed’s on the verge of his big comeback she will be on hand to support him, and their relationship is getting increasingly serious.
“They’re enjoying being so much closer together.”
Ed broke his self-imposed social media silence last week after disappearing from Twitter and Instagram for a full year – telling fans he needed 12 months break.
He kept fans guessing recently as he changed his profile photos to a blue square without an explanation.
A separate source close to the star said: "The album won't be until next year, but it's finished and there is a release date. He's building the hype ready. It's going to be big!"
