Eamonn Holmes invites This Morning ‘wicked stepmother’ Maria Louise over for Christmas – but Ruth Langsford isn’t impressed!
Maria Louise claims to hate Christmas because she doesn't get along with her stepchildren
EAMONN Holmes' Christmas could have been full of cackles rather than crackers this year after he invited a so-called "wicked stepmother" to his family's festive celebrations.
And it's safe to say that his wife Ruth Langsford wasn't exactly impressed.
Maria Louise was being interviewed by the pair because she claimed to hate Christmas as her stepchildren don't get along with her.
She said that this was because their father left their mother for her in 1987.
Maria revealed: "I was always wicked stepmother even though we weren’t married. I never had a chance with them."
The unhappy stepmother claimed that despite getting her partner's teen daughters gifts, they would pretend that they didn't like them.
She said that after she threw a Christmas cake out following their complaints that they didn't like fruit the relations she had with her stepchildren worsened: "When the eldest daughter and I had words, I declared Christmas was officially closed.
“I picked up the Christmas tree with its lights and balls on, ripped it out of the wall, shouted ‘Christmas is now over’ and threw it out the front door.
“I didn’t apologise. I got in the car and went down to my mum’s and she said, ‘It was a recipe for disaster from the start, they’ll always hate your guts’.”
She also shockingly revealed: "I got a knock on the door from the undertaker, who had come to get me. Someone had organised a funeral for me.
“I think it was as low as you can get to upset somebody.”
Maria had also admitted: "“I was jealous their father wanted to spend time with them and not me, and they were jealous of me.”
Eamonn gave her a huge hug after the interview and even appeared to invite her around for his family Christmas.
The pair held hands as she remarked: "Well I shall be on my own this year, I won't see anybody now until the 2 January."
The host joked: "Well if you don't curb that temper you're going to be on your own for much longer!"
Ruth then wryly said: "I thought he was going to invite you for Christmas then."
Maria responded: "I was about to say, I thought I nearly got an invite - I was getting all excited... but no."
Eamonn grinned: "Well, if it was up to me... but I have a wicked... you know."
Ruth quipped: "A wicked wife."
And This Morning fans couldn't help but laugh at Ruth's unimpressed expression.
One remarked: "@EamonnHolmes 🙈 holding no punches #thismorning #wickedstepmother @EamonnRuth Ruth's face tho! 😂🙈😂".
Another tweeted: "Watch out Ruth this woman's after your man now #stepmum #thismorning."
