EastEnders’ Mick and Linda Carter get a Christmas miracle as baby Ollie begins walking
Baby Ollie proved to be just as much a fighter as his mum as she walked for the first time
A CHRISTMAS miracle has come to the Carter family in EastEnders.
As the family prepared to celebrate the holidays in Monday night's episode of the BBC One soap Mick and Linda were left concerned about baby Ollie's first Christmas since the devastating accident that gave him brain damage.
With the couple stressed over Ollie's developmental delays and him not yet walking, Christmas had taken a back seat, but Linda broke down in tears as she was given the best gift she could wish for.
Waiting by the new, stolen, Christmas tree in the square, Linda was overcome with emotion as Mick brought Ollie to her and he toddled up to her.
The happy couple hugged with tears in their eyes as the episode came to a close, but it's finally some good news for the family.
Baby Ollie, the couple's youngest child, suffered serious brain damage after falling from his high chair and banging his head as his older brother Lee and sister Nancy rowed earlier in the year.
The accident left Mick smashing up the Queen Vic in a rage with Nancy getting full blame for the row that sparked the incident, despite Lee also being involved.
It eventually led to Nancy going travelling the world rather than stay in Walford, though eventually father and daughter did fix their relationship.
Meanwhile in the episode, Lee Carter found himself apply for another pay day loan as his money troubles continued and the expense of Christmas and keeping up appearances caught up with him.
But how long can the call centre worker keep up the charade of being a high-powered city slicker?
- EastEnders airs Mondays, Tuesdays, Thursdays and Fridays on BBC One
