Strictly’s Louise Redknapp manages a smile as she steps out with husband Jamie after narrowly missing out on glitterball

LOUISE Redknapp just about managed a smile as she stepped out with husband Jamie following her Strictly loss.

The singer came runner-up to Ore Oduba during the finale on Saturday evening following weeks of gruelling rehearsals.

Looking a little forlorn, the 42-year-old  was seen leaving a restaurant with her footy star husband last night.

Jamie, who had a big smile on his face, appeared to be trying to make  her laugh and managed to cajole a smile out of her.

A source said: “Louise didn’t look too happy but it wasn’t long until Jamie had her smiling again.”

Despite appearing a little glum about missing out on the glitterball trophy, Louise revealed she was incredibly grateful for the experience.

Taking to Instagram after the finale, she wrote: “Have loved learning to dance over the past 4 months and just wanted to say a very big thank you to every one who voted for us and kept us in the competition , @keviclifton I couldn't have done it without thank so much for everything x”

She also recently revealed that the show has done wonders for her marriage – admitting she feels as if she has “gone back 20 years” to the beginning of her relationship with husband Jamie.

“When I first started doing this show I thought it would so not be up Jamie’s street – but I can’t get rid of him," she revealed.

“He comes every Saturday. He said, ‘I think this is going to be great for you and I think it’s about time you got back out here and showed everyone who you are and what you are’.

“I wasn’t expecting for him to be there every Saturday in that front row – and that has made this even more special for me. ”

She added: “It’s something really nice to see someone you love extremely proud of you and it takes me back to 20 years ago, when we first met and I was on stage.”
