Gemma Atkinson hits back at mum-shamers after being trolled for ‘dangerous’ pic of newborn
GEMMA Atkinson hit back at mum-shamers after she was slammed for sharing a 'dangerous' picture of her baby.
The former Hollyoaks actress, 38, who welcomed her second child Thiago in July, shared a sweet photo of her baby boy meeting Gemma's friend and Planet Radio star Mike Toolan.
TV presenter and actor Mike posed next to the small tot, who was lying on his tummy in a brown basket.
"When Thiago met Toolan! Tools came round today and he gently leaned over the sleeping beauty to a welcoming sound of wet fart," she wrote in the caption.
"As usual Tools ate half the contents in the fridge and left with more food boxed up for his tea. Someone’s gotta look after him!"
However, some fans told Gemma off for letting her son sleep on his front.

One wrote: "Please put him to sleep on his back to prevent SIDS xxx" and a second added: "Oh not sure about babies sleeping on their front, that could be quite dangerous."
"Since they introduced the advice to put babies to sleep on their back, the SIDS rate has dropped by 85 per cent," commented a third.
Irritated by the brash comments, Gemma replied: "He does sleep on his back. He naps on his front a few times throughout the day when I’m sat on the chair next to him.
"He’s also able to lift and move his head in both directions when on his front. Not my first rodeo with babies [smiling emoji]"
But many loyal followers rushed to support her, with one writing: "Oh Gemma there's always one who thinks they know better... all three of mine slept on their tummy when I sat watching them. And never slept during the night on their backs or side.... then when they could move around they slept on their tummy with bum in the air .. mum and baby know best."
"Both my babies slept on their fronts, my eldest had club foot and struggled in his boots to sleep on his back. Plus this is the middle of the day, so if mum is watching what’s the problem?! People like to comment on things when it’s nothing to do with them xx" another echoed.
This isn't the first time that Gemma has been mum-shamed on social media.
She's been constantly moaned at by fans for a variety of things, including "gender stereotyping", working out post pregnancy and her decision to stop breastfeeding.
