Ore Oduba crowned winner of Strictly Come Dancing 2016 beating Louise Redknapp and Danny Mac to the Glitterball trophy
BBC One finale didn't disappoint with showstopping routines from all three celebrities
ORE Oduba has been crowned the winner of Strictly Come Dancing.
The BBC presenter beat Louise Redknapp and Danny Mac to become king of the ballroom after a closely fought final which saw the three celebrities perform three different routines.
On hearing that they'd won, Ore and his partner Joanne Clifton looked stunned before they broke down in tears and clung to each other in shock.
Joanne's brother Kevin Clifton, who was partnered with Louise in the final, took the chance to congratulate his sister and spun her around in the air in excitement.
The couple were so hysterical that Tess Daly and Claudia Winkleman moved to the runners-up to give them to the chance to calm down.
Finally able to talk, Ore struggled to speak before he turned to Joanne and said: "I love you. With all of my heart.
"I'm so speechless, I just wanted to say thank you. Thank you for everything that you've given me," he added, before tearing up again.
Ore ended by saying: "You are the most incredible person, and this has been the most incredible experience of my life. I've learned to dance, made an incredible best friend, I've been on the show that I've loved for twelve years."
He went on to thank the staff and production team.
Ore and Joanne got the final off to a roaring start with their judges choice routine - the American Smooth to Singing in the Rain from week three - which scored them 39 points.
Head judge Len Goodman said: " I was screaming the whole way through it. you’re the boy that brings joy. I thought it was such a great number before, you’ve taken great to an even greater place, it was brilliant."
Darcey Bussell added: "It is heaven to watch, you made me gasp again. It all came together and you pulled it off again."
The couple then took to the floor with their show dance to I Got Rhythm by George and Ira Gershwin which scored them the perfect score of the night of 40 from the judges followed by their popular jive routine to Runaway Baby by Bruno Mars, which saw them bag another 40.
After their showdance, Len gave the couple a standing ovation, adding: "Who could ask for more?" while their fabulous jive left all four members of the panel speechless again.
Craig Revel Horwood joked: "I can’t bare it you’re so good. I have nothing to complain about I hate it."
Darcey said: "How do you keep that cool? The repetition, that stamina, you know how to perfect, that is a true dancer."
Len gave a nod to the eventual outcome when he said: "It’s people like you that give me the most pleasure on Strictly, people with no dance background at all, and gradually as the weeks go by you grow to love dancing.
"You are the spirit of Strictly."
Rounding things off, Bruno Tonioli added: "I am so glad I was right the first time around. Your star is shining brighter than ever, that was sheer perfection."
Ore had had mixed fortunes during the series before his victory, topping the leaderboard twice before taking a dip and finding himself in the bottom two against Laura Whitmore in week seven.
Thankfully he was saved by the judges and went on to lift the glitterball trophy on Saturday night.
Meanwhile Danny and his partner Oti Mabuse performed their showstopping Samba to Magalenha, which had scored them a perfect 40 three weeks ago, the first ever couple to do so, and they managed to replicate it perfectly with another set of four 10s from the judges.
The judges chose their Quickstep from week four as the routine they wanted to see them perform again, but after a few footwork blunders, he received 36 points and was placed at the bottom of the leaderboard.
But they made a stunning comeback, wowing viewers with their show dance which they performed to Adele's Set Fire To The Rain, scoring a perfect 40.
Ore's victory may have come as a surprise to some viewers, after Danny had been a frontrunner from early on in the competition, topping the leaderboard eight times throughout the series, and scoring a perfect score on two consecutive weeks.
Rounding out the final three was Louise and her partner Kevin Clifton, who was dancing in his fourth consecutive final.
Their favourite dance which they chose to perform again was the Argentine Tango which scored them a perfect 40, while the judges picked their Cha Cha to Flashdance from week three to be tackled for a second time, and they scored 38 points.
Their show dance was to One Moment in Time by Whitney Houston, which scored them the same score again but brought Bruno Tonioli to tears.
The final also saw the return of all the celebrities and their partners from the series, except for Will Young, who withdrew from the competition in week four and chose not to appear in the class of 2016 group routine.
The show also marked the last appearance for head judge Len Goodman, who decided to leave the series earlier this year, with his fellow judges and former celebrity contestants paying a touching tribute to him before Ore's win was announced.
