ROBBIE Williams was slammed after asking his fans for 'shoplifting' advice in a controversial post.
The former X Factor judge took to social media where he angered store bosses after he asked for tips on how to rob.
Robbie, 49, posed a question to his followers as he asked: "Thinking of getting into shoplifting. Anyone got any tips?"
He swiftly followed up on his original question with a second quip, as he wrote: "I’m just going to the shops... anyone want anything?"
The former Take That star posted a photo to his 2.4 million followers after he got his hands on, 'some scotch guard, an umbrella and a figurine of St. Joseph.'
Although the star may have meant to joke around, for some it's no laughing matter as shoplifting reports are at an all time high.

This is complete with a cost to retailers of over £1 billion per year as Robbie's net worth at around £222 million.
In response to his stunt on social media, director of the Centre For Retail Research, Professor Joshua Bamfield, hit out at the star.
He explained: "The Robbie Williams comment is a disgrace.’’
James Lowman, chief executive of the Association of Convenience Stores also added: "Dealing with theft definitely isn’t funny for the thousands of retailers that are being targeted on a daily basis.:

And a third expert,Chief executive officer of Gail’s Bakery Luke Johnson added: "A vastly rich ex-pop star mocking a serious social and economic problem shows a celebrity truly lost in showbiz."
Although many of his fans saw the funny side of his trick and they even joined in with sarcastic tips for the singer.
