Strictly Come Dancing star Louise Redknapp admits the show put the sparkle back into her marriage

LOUISE Redknapp has credited Strictly Come Dancing with putting the sparkle back into her marriage.

The finalists admits she feels as if she has ";gone back 20 years" to the beginning of her relationship with husband Jamie.

The former Eternal singer, 42, is down to the final three set to compete for Strictly's coveted glitterball trophy this weekend.

Louise faces competition from fellow finalists Ore Oduba and Danny Mac.

She has now revealed her stint on the show has given her a huge boost both personally and professionally.

When asked about Jamie;s support throughout the competition, Louise admitted she felt overwhelmed by his dedication to her.

She said: "When I first started doing this show I thought it would so not be up Jamie’s street - but I can’t get rid of him.

"He comes every Saturday. He said, ‘I think this is going to be great for you and I think it’s about time you got back out here and showed everyone who you are and what you are’.

"I wasn’t expecting for him to be there every Saturday in that front row – and that has made this even more special for me. "

She went to reveal that Strictly has reinvigorated the couple's relationship.

Louise added: "It’s something really nice to see someone you love extremely proud of you and it takes me back to 20 years ago, when we first met and I was on stage."

The former pop star also revealed starring in the show has given her a big confidence boost.

She said: "I wasn’t so low on confidence I couldn’t go out of the house!

"But when you’ve been in the public eye and been on the stage as a singer in a pop band, it becomes very natural to you to perform.

"You then go away and have a family and for 10 years you don’t go on stage.

"When you do a show like Strictly you know everyone’s going to have an opinion on you and it had been a long time since anyone had a major opinion on me that I’d have to read about.

"That was what I was kind of nervous about. The first day, I did feel overwhelmed by everything."

Saturday’s final will start on BBC One on Saturday at 6.40pm and will be on for two hours and 15 minutes.

Louise will dancing the Tango with her partner Kevin Clifton

Ore and Joanne Clifton will be dancing a Jive to Runaway, and Danny and Oti Mabuse will be dancing the Samba.
