The Chase viewers swoon over ‘dreamy’ student as they hail him the show’s hottest ever contestant

A sexy student made Friday’s episode of The Chase more interesting than usual for some viewers.

Fans of the ITV quiz show fawned over the contestant, a young man called Sergio, as he took on the chaser.

Host Bradley Walsh appeared to appreciate the student’s good looks, telling the audience: “Next to face the chaser, girls – it’s Sergio.”

He went on to compliment the brown hair hunk on his name, before saying: “I bet that [name] works, don’t it?” much to the audience’s delight.

Sergio quipped back: “It does the job.”

He went on the show to clear off some of the debt he’d racked up at university but looking at Twitter’s reaction – he could have just as easily bagged himself a wife.

Sergio ended up bagging £8,000 for the team but it’s not yet known if he took any of his admirers up on the offer of exchanging numbers.

Two weeks ago the hit ITV quiz show was the talk of Twitter again, but it wasn’t the contestants who caught viewers’ eyes.

During the episode Mark ‘The Beast’ Labbett flew into a fit of rage, punched a wall and stormed off set.

Contestants Michael, Trish and Terry managed to win £60,000, beating the Mark in the final round.

But despite keeping his cool in his chair, The Beast then stormed off before letting his anger out on the set.

Host Bradley attempted to play it down, as he told the audience: “That just shows you how they take it.”

One fan tweeted shortly after: “The beast got hammered Thursday.”

Another added: “The Beast snapping he was smashed on #thechase.”

A third wrote:: “The Beast has gone pop. Unreal scenes.”

The Beast took on his role on the show in 2009, and proved such a hit, he's now starred as the sole chase on the US version.

He is also one of five Chasers on the Australian version.

He has also appeared in several television quiz shows and is a regular in quizzing competitions.
