IT'S Christmas party season, you’ve just come out of a long relationship and you’re ready to dip your toe – and maybe more – into the dating scene.
But how to behave?
And what are the rules?
Everything you need to know is in How to Be Single, the rude, un-PC and very, very funny American rom-com that’s like Sex and the City – but with great gags.
Dakota Johnson and Rebel Wilson star in How to be Single
Alice (Dakota Johnson) dumps the boyfriend she has had since college to head to New York and experience something she has never known – a wild, single life.
She moves in with her sister, Meg, and becomes friends with co-worker Robin (Rebel Wilson), a party-loving free spirit who educates her about fun in the Big Apple.
Robin revels in being single.
She loves the boozing and the one-night stands, and warns her mates against all-consuming romantic relationships.
So here are five rules for how to be single...
Don’t text back
Someone you like messages so you reply straight away, right?
Nope.
According to Robin, make them wait four hours.
“And if you use an emoji, I will punch you.”
Guy buys
“You never pay for drinks,” Robin tells Alice. “Boys pay for drinks. It’s kind of like a sexual
currency they use, so they’re not actually paying you to hook up.”
The hilarious duo explain the rules
Get a bikini wax
Robin and Alice go for a sauna and Robin takes a sneak peek up Alice’s towel.
“Is that Tom Hanks from Castaway ?”
The drink number
Says Robin: “In every male-female friendship, there’s a total number of drinks and if you hit that, you will definitely have sex.”
Alice’s number turns out to be five, Robin’s a worrying 27.
Avoid toy boys
Alice tells her sister a bloke is checking her out.
Meg replies: “He’s too young. All young guys want to do is have sex all day. All I need is a quick ten minutes, then a long nap.”
