Whether it’s Assassin’s Creed or Deadpool, Jamie East has the hottest movie and TV news
Jamie on the big Screen
There are three very different films that I’m particularly looking forward to in the New Year, starting with Assassin’s Creed starring Michael Fassbender and she-who-can-do-no-wrong Marion Cotillard.
It merges a bunch of premises we’ve vaguely seen before (time-travel, wibbly-wobbly technology and ancient superhero figures) into something that, if it performs well enough, could become a franchise to be reckoned with.
It almost makes me want to play the video game!
Then, in complete contrast, there’s La La Land.
Ryan Gosling and Emma Stone being a cute-as-a-button, loved-up couple in Hollywood all set to a jazz musical score – oh and it’s directed by the fella who did Whiplash.
The premise sounds – and is – smug, but the result is exquisite.
Go and watch it before that annoying person at work tells you to.
