Iconic pop group to release new music for first time since 2017
THEY’VE been hard at work on their ninth studio album as a follow up to their 2017 record Wonderland.
And now Take That are finally preparing to make their music comeback, with Gary Barlow revealing the group would drop their first original song in five years this week.
The Could It Be Magic crooner has teamed up with his bandmates Howard Donald and Mark Owen for the new single, with Jason Orange and Robbie Williams keeping themselves out of the frame.
Gary said: “Only four days ago we were shooting a video for our new single which is going to be played this week.
“It’ll be sometime on Radio 2, we are so excited.
“Obviously it has been quite a few years since we had new music.

“I think 2017 was our last official new music and this one I am so excited for you to hear.”
When asked about what fans could expect, Gary explained: “It sounds really different and emotional and fitting for where we are now in our lives.
“We are very proud.”
The band, who have notched up 12 No1 singles and eight No1 albums in their career, last released original music in 2017 – with Out Of Our Heads one of three new tunes to appear on their compilation album Odyssey.
Gary first revealed the band’s plans for new music to us back in 2021.
He said at the time: “I am desperate to get back into the band if I’m honest.
“For us, 2023 will be a big year for Take That.
“It is Mark, Howard and me for the next few years.”
In May this year the trio signed a new deal with EMI Records and their manager Chris Dempsey promised brand new live dates next year.
Chris teased: “We have big touring plans for 2024 – more on that in the coming months.
“There probably aren’t too many artists 30 years into their career and on their ninth studio album that still have Take That’s energy and ambition.”
