The music world was left in mourning after Darius - famed for a rendition of Britney Spears' hit Baby One More Time - was found unresponsive at around 11.50am the next day.
An autopsy was launched which found the Scots performer's heart was "twice the expected size" which "may have contributed to his respiratory arrest”.
The singer's funeral was held in his East Dunbartonshire hometown three months later - as grieving friends and family flocked to pay their respects.
It is thought around 100 well-wishers attended the service at the musicians's local Bearsden Cross Parish Church.
Hollywood actor Gerard Butler was among the mourners after he was left devastated following his pal's death.
The Hollywood hunk described his close mate as a "true brother in arms" with the "heart of a lion".
Darius' coffin was piped into the hearse as a lone piper played Caledonia.
Locals described a heavy police presence with up to ten cop cars lining nearby streets.
Among those paying tribute was devastated fan Josh Bell, 23, who said: "I saw the police escort, there was lots of police - I thought something bad had happened.
"I went down and had a look and saw Gerard Butler, he was here. It was beautiful, everyone was out for him."
