A BRITISH pop star mentored by Eurythmics legend Dave Stewart has died aged just 21 after a rare brain tumour.
Sunderland musician Faye Fantarrow died at home on Saturday, her mother Pam announced.
She had twice beaten leukaemia since learning she had cancer at ages 8 and 13 and was diagnosed with a rare glioma brain tumour in September 2022.
In a statement, her family said they were "broken and desolate" following her death.
They described the singer-songwriter as "the brightest star on the darkest night" with "a passion for living".
Her family said: "Faye had wisdom, compassion and understanding beyond her years.

"She loved fiercely, laughed easily and lived gregariously."
In 2021, Faye was signed to Stewart's Bay Street Records label and they had been working on an EP together.
Stewart said in a statement: "I can't put into words how devastated I was when, just after spending an amazing creative time with Faye last summer making her debut album, Faye found out she had this very aggressive brain tumour.
"Faye was a joy to be around, full of fun, laughter and sharp as a razor — a true artist in every sense.
