MELANIE Sykes has posted an incredible throwback picture of her with Hollywood hunk Tom Hardy.

But you'd be forgiven if you had to do a double-take, as the British actor looks a far cry from his hard man image in the snap from 1998.

She captioned the picture: "#tbt me and Tom Hardy when He won the big breakfast's model competition. How mad is that ?!?!? ❤️😍 #bigbreakfast #90s 💋"

Taken on the popular 90s morning show when Tom was a 20-year-old drama student.

Now Tom is more likely to be seen on the red carpet promoting his latest blockbuster flick than competing for a place on the catwalk.

Just last month, a video of Tom on the show was uncovered showing the actor being interviewed by Big Breakfast presenter Denise Van Outen.

The hilarious clip shows Denise being very cheeky with the young Tom, as she attempts to “Get comfortable”, and settles herself in close to him on the sofa.

To which Tom quickly replies: “Easy!”

She then says: “Oh I’m not easy!”

The hunk was on the show as part of their Find Me A Model campaign, where he is described as “a virile Virgo with dreamy bluey green eyes”.

They then say that “he is training to be an actor at drama school and is currently appearing in his end of term show”.

Tom is very cool throughout the interview, with cheeky Denise admiring his physique and saying she likes his “tatts”.
