Rochelle Humes, Rita Ora and Gok Wan honoured in 2023 Ethnicity Awards as shortlist is announced

ROCHELLE Humes, Gok Wan and Rita Ora are among the celebs who have been honoured with a nomination for this year's Ethnicty Awards.

The shortlist for the star-studded event has been announced, with top names in sports and showbiz recognised for their efforts to promote diversity and inclusion.

The awards, held in partnership with HSBC UK, celebrates influential Black, Asian and minority ethnic people across the UK.

TV host Rochelle, fashion guru Gok and pop songstress Rita are among the names up for the variety of gongs.

Other stars on the shortlist are F1 driver Lewis Hamilton, actors Idris Elba and Daniel Kaluya and sports commentator Alex Scott.

The music category includes rapper Dave, singer Jorja Smith and Eurovision contestant Mae Muller.

While Disney blockbuster The Little Mermaid starring Halle Bailey goes up against Queen Charlotte, The Lateish Show with Mo Gilligan and Ncuti Gatwa as Doctor Who.

And boxer Nicola Adams, former Olympian Dame Kelly Holmes and track and field star Jessica Ennis-Hill go head-to-head in the sports catagory.

Founder of the Ethnicity Awards, Sarah Garrett MBE, said of the latest celebrity offering: "So many people listed on the 2023 Ethnicity Awards shortlist are continuing to do good - both publicly and privately - for minorities and people of colour across the UK.

"They are very deserving of their place on the shortlist. The awards in November will be a celebration of their achievements. It is going to be a fantastic night.”
