I’m A Celeb champ Scarlett Moffatt hits back at cruel trolls who claimed she exaggerated her fear of confined spaces to win show
QUEEN of the Jungle Scarlett Moffatt has hit back at claims she exaggerated her fear of confined spaces to win the show.
The telly champ – who was revealed to have topped the polls in every single vote-off on the show – told hosts Ant and Dec she was getting upset after finding out she would be sealed into a small space while being covered in creepy crawlies.
But fans trawled her social media pages and found her in a number of selfies with boyfriend Luke Crodden taken in lifts.
Talking to The Sun, Scarlett hit back: “It’s not a lift phobia, it’s claustrophobia.
“Claustrophobia is being scared of confined spaces. I haven’t got a fear of lifts, I’ve got a fear of not being able to see an escape.

“It’s not just lifts, it’s the same if there’s too many bubbles in the bath.
“ I can’t put my head under the water as if I opened my eyes I couldn’t see a way out.
“Or I can’t go in a small room without a window, or even a big one.
“It’s more I like to be able to see how I can escape. I don’t know why my brain works like that.”
On the show she told how she once climbed 34 flights of stairs because she was too terrified to take the lift.
However after the trials, like the one in the final, Scarlett says she has taken steps in the right direction.
She added: “I feel like I’m conquering it but am not completely cured.
“After the trial I slept with a sleeping bag over my head. That doesn’t sound big, but to me it is.”
