TEARS IN COURT

Judge Rinder and Oksana Platero left in floods of tears on It Takes Two after elimination from Strictly Come Dancing

The star was shown a reel of his best bits and couldn't hold back as his emotions got the better of him

JUDGE Rinder was left in tears as he was shown his best bits of his time on Strictly Come Dancing on It Takes Two.

The star tried to maintain his composure when the highlight clip was first shown, but half way through the show there wasn't a dry eye in the house as he started weeping.

He was matched by his dance partner Oksana Platero, who openly wept uncontrollably throughout her interview with presenter Zoe Ball.

He said: "If you'd told me I would get weepy over a dance competition, I would have said 'oh don't be such a ninny Robert!' - but I've been completely invested in it"

The TV barrister also revealed how his last performance to Oh! What A Night by Frankie Valli and the Four Seasons held a particular sentimental value after discovering that it was a late friend's favourite song.

They also revealed that in order to understand each other better, he taught her how to play piano - so he could understand how hard it was to teach someone something, and for her to understand how hard it is to learn.

He joked that he only "lasted half an hour" before admitting defeat.

She then tearfully told him: "[You taught me] so much. I guess I can say what true dedication is.

"Because no matter how late he is, how tired he is, how frustrated both of us are... the kind of respect and complete dedication and listening to every word I said - he did it!"

, who has made no secret of his love of the show, faced off against BBC sports presenter Ore Oduba after winning the lowest points and public vote on Sunday night, and was sent home.

He said: "I think if you put 100% into anything and you do it with authenticity and enthusiasm then it really shines through."

Gushing about his Strictly experience to Tess Daly on hearing he was out of the competition, Judge Rinder said: “It’s a joy to be here, every single person, there’s too many people to thank but I even want to thank the judges.

Oksana found it difficult to talk throughout the show as she cried

"I know how difficult it is sometimes to be a judge and you do it with authenticity and enthusiasm and thank you all for your comments."

He then turned to Oksana and said: "My last thank you and my most important one, this truly extraordinary person, this teacher who has shown me from somebody who could barely walk to music with no dance experience at all to find a passion and a love for dance and that’s the best kind of teaching.
